长期以来，我的画室有两张案子：一个大的，用来画画；一个小的，用来写作。画画时，我脑子里时常会涌出些奇思妙想，马上放下画笔或刻刀，到小案子上迅速记下这些想法，以免它们稍纵即逝，等闲下来时再详写。所以每当有人问，你的作品是先有文还是先有图时，我会不假思索地回答：有时先有文，有时先有图，不一定。

　　聊天，我用话语表达所见所闻，亮出自己的观点；绘画，是我用画笔在纸上布上倾诉我的所见所思，并以此传达我个人的见解；写作，我用文字记录和表现生活，言说我的心声。如果它们之间有所不同，那就是绘画用线条、色彩造型，文章则是用字词句章造型，它们都可以表达我对生活的观察、记录以及我的看法。当画难达意时，我便用文字抒发感情，对这个纷繁的世界说上几句，站在我个人立场上。我思，故我在；我在，故我思；我画我写我思我说，故我乐。个中情趣，无以言表。

　　边画、边刻、边想、边写；木刻、彩墨、油彩、随笔、杂文、小说，情之所至，不拘一格。画身边事画身边人，写身边事写身边人。即便写鲁迅先生，我也经常捎上当下，与鲜活的现实生活幽默一下，因为鲁迅先生当年关注的人与事不时现身于我们今天的生活里。

　　没有生活，哪来艺术？没有艺术，何谈生活？何谈趣味？生活艺术化，艺术生活化，我已经无法将它们分开。南下8年时间，我就是这般模样劳动着，先后出版了7本图文书，1本25万字的长篇小说，1本关于我老师的传记。有人夸我用功、刻苦，我以为然。因为，如果我是农民，一定会日出而耕，早起晚归，多打粮食，热爱每一寸田地，它是我的本分。我乐意让写作与绘画交织在一起，因为它们都是那么自然地从我的心底溢出，像溪水一样快乐地流淌于我生命的山谷里，这已然是我的生活方式。

　　生活即艺术，艺术即生活。朝花夕拾，俯拾即是，品评事实，告诫劝善，嬉笑怒骂皆成文章。人有所长，亦有所短，我学虽勤，所得甚浅，恍然有悟，竟敢妄谈，一些胡言乱语可能会有些锋芒，如有得罪，无需原谅。

　　他山之石可以攻玉。写文章时，对于人物的塑造、事物的描写，得益于绘画理论与技巧的经验。比如画画时，每个人物的造型，一定要拉开距离，使他们各具鲜明个性，否则就会千人一面，单调、枯燥、无味。我在小说中塑造人物，有意让他们各具形态，各有特色。甜美的画面让人喜欢，但它缺失震撼的力量，圆满的故事有时也很难反映生活的真实，因为生活本身并非十全十美。我绝不让故事情节都向圆满的结局发展，虽然我也希望主人公幸福如意，但仍会把故事情节引往另一个方向——生活正在把一些美好的东西毁灭，那些青春的激情、那些纯真与善良……让它们真实地离去，尽管令人惋惜。

　　我的绘画当然也借了文学的光。当大多数画家摒弃美术创作中的文学性、故事性时，我饶有兴趣地加强作品里的文学性，努力增加作品的故事性、情节性。虽然远离前卫，倒也与他人拉开了距离。

　　图与文的结合创作让我自由行走在文学与绘画这两个世界里，我找到了一生的方向。这种别样的艺术手段使然，生活的每一个细节都会习惯性成为创作素材，无论喜与忧、成功与失败、获取与失落，所有这些都不再浪费。感谢生活，为我提供了广阔的舞台；感谢生活中的人们，为我提供了无尽的创作源泉。

　　介入现实、阳光生活、干预生活、勇于歌唱、直面批评，与人性照面、与现实交谈，今悟此道，永生不变。我努力地耕耘，也常想着收获。

Artist self-report

　　There are two tables in my studio for a long time, I use the large one for painting and the small one for writing. If I have some whimsy when I paint, I will immediately put down the brush, quickly write down these ideas on the small table, and then perfect these fleeting ideas later. Whenever someone asks me if my work came out with a text or a picture first, I always answer them without thinking: sometimes there is a text first, sometimes a picture first, not necessarily.

　　I use words to express what I saw and heard with my own point of view when I chat with people. Painting is the way I use brush to talk about my personal insights on paper. Writing is way that I use words to record my life. They are my different ways of expressing and recording. These expressions complement each other in my creation and I really enjoy it.

　　My artistic expression is not limited to form. Such as woodcuts, colorful inks, oil paints, essays, novels. I paint people and things around me and I also write about them. When I wrote about Mr. Lu Xun I also combined with our current life, because the people and things that Mr. Lu paid attention to in the past are also appeared in our lives today.

　　No life, no art. What about life without art?A life without art is no life at all. I can't separate them. I have spent 8 years to publish seven books, a 250,000-word novel, and a biography of my teacher. Some people praised me for my hard-work. Indeed, I am hardworking. If I were a farmer, I would be definitely plough at sunrise, get up early and return late, plant a lot and love every inch of land. I am willing to let writing and painting intertwined, because they are naturally spilling from my heart, flowing like a stream of water in my life, this is my way of life. Life is art, art is life.

　　I believe that we all have something to learn from other things. When I was writing an article, I learned from the experience of painting theory and techniques for the shaping of characters and the description of things. For example, I think each character's shape should have a distinct personality in art works, otherwise it will be monotonous and tasteless. In my novel, I made every character have their own characteristics. The perfect story sometimes makes it difficult to reflect the truth of life, because life itself is not perfect. Although I hope that the protagonist will live in a happy life, but I still presented the truth of life in my works.

　　My paintings are also influenced by literature. Even though most painters abandon the literary and narrative of art creation, I am interested to strengthen them in my works. This makes me different from them. The combination of picture and text makes me walking freely in the worlds of literature and painting. I have found a direction in my life. This kind of artistic means makes every detail of life become a creation material, no matter it is happiness or sadness, success or failure, gain or loss. Thanks to life and the people in my life.

　　I am living positive with the courage to express myself and face criticism. I talk with the humanity and reality. I realized this is my way of life and I will keep going this way. I am working hard and also looking forward to the harvest.
